Waterford Softball is a competitive recreations program for girls from the ages 5-16 years of age. Starting with the 5&6 ponytail league to learn the basics of fielding, batting and running the bases.7&8 machine pitch is the next age group that supports the things that the girls started learning in the pony tail division. In the past couple of years Waterford Softball has had some significant success in the Gloucester City tournament finishing in the top 3 teams overall for the tournament. 9&10 Minors where the girls are strictly on player pitching and the competitive level increases and Waterford Softball has had great success in this age bracket winning several District 21 championships. Several years back the 9&10 bracket advanced to the NJ State Championship placing 3rd overall throughout the state. 11&12 Majors the girls move back to 40' for pitching and the game really starts to take its form and the speed of the game increases and the talent level is rising. Waterford has won several District 21 championships in this age bracket and has finished 2nd on more than one occasion in the Section 4 NJ championships. 13&14 Juniors is when the girls move to high school regulations with the mound back at 43'ft. This age bracket is growing each year and getting stronger to bring us home a District 21 championship and a Sectional title. 14-16 Seniors offers girls the opportunity to continue their softball aspirations well into their high school careers.
Waterford has also developed a successful fall ball program that has been growing over the past 2 years. Waterford has participated in the GSA league and has been extremely competitive for the past two seasons playing travel team caliber teams with great success. This past year was our first year that the pony tail league played and this was a huge success getting girls ready for the spring season.
