Message to parents 6/8/2020

The WTAA is pleased to announce we have received authorization to resume baseball and softball
activities. Practices will begin the week of June 22, with games starting the following week. All games
will be played on weeknights - no weekend games. The regular season schedule will run approximately
through the month of July. Schedules will be distributed as soon as they are finalized, and coaches will
be in contact with parents regarding the date/time/location of your practice. It is important your child
attends the practice so he/she can be familiarized with the social distancing guidelines we will be
enforcing during game play!

A few notes concerning important social distancing guidelines the WTAA must follow this season. We
would greatly appreciate everyone's cooperation in abiding by these guidelines and recommendations.

Parents/guardians/families will be expected to...
 - Stay six feet away from individuals outside their household.
 - Wear a cloth face covering.
 - Avoid direct hand or other contact with players/managers/coaches during play.
 - Not enter the field of play or dugout areas.
 - Sit in only those areas designated for spectator seating.
 - Limit attendance to direct family members
 - Not attend games/practices if any family member has an active COVID-19 infection, has had direct contact with an individual testing positive for COVID-19, or has a fever or persistent cough.
 - Bring their own chairs to games. Most of the spectator seating areas will not have bleachers available.
 - Not bring team snacks, or distribute any other items to teammates of their child.
 - Clearly mark all personal equipment, water bottles, etc.
 - Clean and disinfect their child's equipment after each game.
 - Read, sign, and return the updated WTAA Code of Conduct (go to to download)

Players will be expected to...
 - Stay at their assigned spots when on the bench, in the dugout, or waiting their turn to bat.
 - Not share equipment with other players.
 - Refrain from handshakes, high fives, fist/elbow bumps, chest bumps, group celebrations, etc.
 - Not bring sunflower seeds, gum, etc., into the dugouts or playing field.
 - Refrain from spitting at all times, including in dugout areas and on the playing field.
 - Not attend games/practices if they are exhibiting symptoms of fever, cough, or worsening respiratory symptoms, until cleared by a medical professional.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience. We also would like to thank Waterford Township for
their cooperation with WTAA as we worked to develop a safe and viable plan for us to resume activities.

See you on the fields soon!
